Hi, I'm julie.

A little background on me...I'm originally from NoVA (IYKYK) and came down to Georgia for college at UGA (Go Dawgs). I have been a Latin teacher at public and private schools in Georgia, DC, and online for a LONG time. And before you ask, yes, they still offer Latin in schools. No, it is not dead, it is immortal. During that time I have also been a coach of several sports, but MY sport is lacrosse. I have also been a part of a great team at an ed tech start-up and helped develop business and sales for computer science curriculum platform.

I have two amazing daughters with my husband, as well as our misfit dog, Brutus. We love several things at our house. First, the Georgia Bulldogs; the Atlanta Braves; our fantasy football teams, traveling, creative endeavors-like renovating our house, and spending time together.

Our girls are really good at keeping in touch with their friends...and they are in elementary school. I have not been stellar at maintaining important relationships in my life. I just attended my 20th high school reunion (sigh) and I was blown away. There were no harsh feelings about the lost time, we all had "life" that happened in those interim years, but we picked right back up and were able to celebrate how far we have come. And to say we had been through a lot as a class together is an understatement...DC Sniper, 9/11 - specifically at the Pentagon and the aftermath, I decided to do better. Stay in touch. It takes less than a minute to send a text to let someone know you are thinking about them, but it means a lot. That reinvigorated me in launching this business.

The why.

When I think about what has prevented me from hosting events at my house in the past it comes down to a few things: stress, time, resources, and did I mention stress?

Here is a glimpse at my internal conversation when I would ponder the possibility.

See if you can relate:

Me to myself: If I'm going to host an event, I want to do it right. Ok, what theme am I going for?

{Picks theme and, of course, tells kids about theme who are now asking 1,000,000 questions

           and throwing  ideas and guest names at me-half, I am fairly certain, are made up...}

Me to myself again:

That sounds fun, BUT that is in two weeks. I need to clean the house, order JUST the right decorations, after spending hours curating ALL the sites searching for the right ones. Oh, and tableware, you know, from 10 different stores.

Then I have to deal with the boxes (aka hide them from my husband....).

What if they don't look like they did online?

We all know we are just going to break down and order whatever has the fastest shipping and will get the job done...we can talk numbers after everyone sees how great it was...right!?

Ugh. I still would need to figure out the food situation, invitations, shop, live my normal life,

and so on....

A gathering of any size, a few friends, a kid's party, to a cocktail party does not have to be complicated.

You don't need to hire an event planner or spend hours online. Family holidays don't have to be stressful to decorate or clean (and you won't have to stock up on new decorations). You won't even need an excuse now to get together with friends.

Carpe Confetti offers everything you need to have a successful event.

We offer different levels of service based on the type of event you are hosting/number of guests.
